Over a thousand people have now signed a petition to keep free parking in Folkestone town centre.
The campaign has also set up a Facebook page, and a public meeting with more than 100 people in attendance was held this week.
Lead protestor Kay McLoughlin told the Kentish Express that the charges will stop people coming to Folkestone to spend their money.
