Residents evacuated after a fire in a Dover flat



Around 40 people from neighbouring properties were evacuated after a fire started in first floor flat in Dover on Friday.

Four fire engines, police, an ambulance and a Red Cross vehicle attended the scene as fire fighters tackled the blaze in the flat, part of a three floor building.

No-one was injured in the incident which started in the early hours of Friday morning and residents were allowed back into their homes just after 3.30am.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
