Boost for better broadband in Shepway

Shepway District Council’s case for better broadband in the North Downs has been endorsed by the Government and will be backed by an award of over £650,000 to invest in improved broadband connections.

The Rural Community Broadband fund will improve broadband connections to Stelling Minnis, Elmstead, Sellindge, Postling, Stowting, Monks Horton and the surrounding areas.

Councillor Alan Clifton-Holt, Cabinet Member for the Economy, said the Governments offer was not open ended and before the money would be released, the council have to meet five conditions of the bid and prove it would be able to deliver its faster broadband promise.
