The figures about the deaths on Kent’s roads have just been released and show a great improvement over the years.
The number of people killed or seriously injured on the roads is continuing to fall; in 2011 they went down by 5% compared to the previous year. The statistics show that the 12 month total of serious road casualties fell to 519 last year, compared to 545 in 2010 and 629 the year before.
The crashes have now exceeded the government’s target of a 40% reduction, and believe it to be the result of improved road conditions and targeted publicity campaigns.
