Folkestone edges closer to funding grant

A project to refurbish heritage buildings in Folkestone is one step closer to receiving over one million pounds of lottery funding.

A partnership of Kent County Council, Shepway District Council and the Creative Foundation is in the first round of a process to secure up to £1.3 million to improve parts of streets and buildings within the Folkestone Conservation Area.

The plans are to restore or refurbish the fronts of heritage buildings and open spaces, including Rendezvous Street and The Parade.

It’s hoped the full grant from the Hertiage Lottery Fund could be awarded within the next year.
