A woman who left her partner lying injured on the ground because she thought ‘he was being a drama queen’ is being investigated over his death. Julie Barron left John McDaid lying with a fractured skull outside their motor home in the Park and Ride site in New Dover Road, Canterbury, while she went to the pub.
Canterbury Crown Court heard how the couple had been having an argument and Ms Barron had ‘picked [Mr McDaid] up and chucked him out of the door’, and he later died from the head injuries he sustained. Ms Barron was seen in the Old Gate Inn with a black eye and later told police that Mr McDaid had hit her during the fight.
Barron is alleged to have told her sister that she ‘can’t bear the thought that [she] killed him’, and her trial continues.
