Man banned after assaulting dog

A man from Folkestone who was seen attacking his pet dog has been banned from keeping dogs.

Oluwasen Akerele was seen dragging and hitting his dog in Shorncliffe Road last July after it had been sick in his car.

Akerele admitted the charge and explained to Folkestone Magistrates Court that he had been angry at the dog because it had thrown up. RSPCA Inspector Caroline Doe told Kent News “There was no excuse for the attack whatsoever.”

Akerele has been banned from owning dogs for two years and was ordered to pay costs and a fine which came to a total of £400.
