Twenty injured in Ashford minibus crash

Twenty people have been taken to hospital after their minibus crashed on the M20 on Monday morning. The vehicle collided with a 4×4 at Ashford between junctions 8 and 9 just before 9.15.

Fire-fighters were called to scene and had to use hydraulic cutters to remove the rear doors of the minibus and seats in order to access three passengers suffering from spinal injuries, carrying them from the vehicle on spinal boards.

Paramedics treated seventeen others who were suffering from various minor injuries. The severely injured, all of whom were adults, were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. There were no fatalities as a result of the incident.
