Criticism over nuclear waste proposal by Shepway Council

The proposal to store high level nuclear waste in Romney Marsh has been labelled as “irresponsible, outrageous and madness” by the Shepway liberal democrats.

Folkestone and Hythe MP Damian Collins and Kent County Council Leader Paul Carter have also disagreed with the proposal.

Green peace is concerned because it’s impossible to guarantee weather the surrounding rocks will be enough to protect and stop radio activity from escaping in the future.

Shepway Liberal Democrats are so against the idea that they have even launches a petition to stop the preceding for the plans.
