'Reconnect Radio Drama' is a project running in 2021 & 2022 that aimed to work with 45 children, on work that encouraged reading, oracy, confidence, creativity, teamworking, and re-engaged them with learning after the pandemic.

 

We ended up exceeding our target and working with 50 children from Martello Primary, Folkestone Primary, and Folkestone Academy. We held sessions where we practiced drama scripts with them, and coached them through a number of rehearsals before recording their parts either at their schools or in Academy FM's studios.

The dramas were set in a variety of locations, with scripts by Project Leaders Lucy Thompson and Kathrine Castle. With the Folkestone Academy Yr7's we recorded an act of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream!
